The lounge is designed in modern- contemporary style, with walls decorated in rich timber, with full–height fabric-laminated glass panels to enhance privacy. The high ceiling gives a sense of space, while full-length windows allow customers to enjoy tranquil views of the garden outside as they relax in seats upholstered in nature-touch fabric or rich leather. The SilverKris Lounge is equipped with 42-inch plasma televisions, a small business area where passengers can catch up on work and a WiFi network for wireless internet connection anywhere within the lounge. The lounge was designed by Leo International Design Group Company Ltd from Bangkok, and construction was managed by Jim & Hall’s (Thailand) Company Ltd. The SilverKris Lounge is open daily from 0515 to 2300 hours (except on Thursdays from 0515 to 1900 hours). The Baht for a Better Life Project, started by Amari Hotels and Resorts in 1995, is making a difference. Small change contributed by guests as well as donations from staff are used to further the education of children in Thailand. There are no administrative costs in running the Baht for a Better Life Foundation. Therefore, every dollar, pound and euro given to the fund is used for educational projects. Funds from the Baht for a Better Life Foundation have been used to rebuild a dilapidated school in part in while holidaying in Malaysia, at value- for-money prices. Tourism Malaysia once again had a significant presence at the International Travel Expo 2008 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in June. The booth featured 15 co-participants showcasing Malaysia’s unique and diverse cultural heritage, along with its tourist hot-spots while highlighting the many luxury add-on activities that travellers can take Conrad Centennial Singapore had the pleasure to welcome two-time Formula One Champion Mika Hakkinen when he was in town recently to launch the Johnnie Walker’s Responsible Drinking initiative – Join The Pact. The campaign aims to reach out and remind the public “Never Drink and Drive”. A global responsible drinking ambassador for Johnnie Walker, Hakkinen wowed over 10,000 fans as he took to the streets of Singapore in a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes car, demonstrating a series of stunts and expert manoeuvres during the two-hour extravaganza.
