miceAsia.net 79 venue update MANILA MARRIOTT HOTEL OPENS Conveniently located in Newport City across from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the Manila Marriott Hotel is described as being ideal for business travellers and a one-stop-shop for tourists and leisure guests. The hotel is situated in the new Resorts World Manila complex, an entertainment haven and the first of its kind in the Philippines, featuring the country's largest casino, an iconic mall, restaurants and bars, a 1030-seat arts theatre, cinemas and other exciting outlets. The hotel which opened in late 2009 is under a long-term management agreement between Marriott International and Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc., led by Richard Saul as general manager and Indraneel Benadikar as director of sales and marketing. The Manila Marriott Hotel is a quick 20-minute drive from the Makati business district and 15 minutes from Manila's newest dining and business hub, Bonifacio Global City Taguig. The hotel offers first-rate accommodation including luxurious bedding, high-speed internet, 40-inch, high definition LCD televisions with jack pack plug and play systems and spacious work areas. The two top floors house executive level rooms and 19 deluxe suites. Guests can enjoy a spectacular view of the 18-hole Villamor golf course from the executive lounge. The property has almost 14,000 square feet of meeting space, offering six meeting rooms with a total of 3963 square feet and a Grand Ballroom with capacity of 9892 square feet, available for seating up to 990 people. MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT FOR THE CONRAD SEOUL IFC Seoul has signed an agreement with Hilton Worldwide to manage Korea's newest and most spectacular luxury hotel. Setting a new benchmark in luxury hotel accommodation in Seoul, the Conrad Seoul will be located in the acclaimed International Financial Centre Seoul (IFC), and is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2011. In addition to the 446-room hotel, IFC Seoul will comprise, upon completion, three office towers, a cineplex and a luxury retail mall (IFC Mall), as well as extensive dining and leisure areas, public access to green spaces and a direct connection to the Seoul subway transportation system. With a strong focus on luxury and fashion, IFC Seoul will occupy a prime location in the heart of Seoul's financial centre, the Yeouido Business District, which is home to the Korea Exchange and is often referred to as the "Korean Wall Street." Overlooking the Han River and nestled among the headquarters of Korean enterprises and multinationals, the Conrad Seoul will offer guests an oasis of respite from the city's bustle, with sweeping views of the city skyline, a swimming pool, health club, luxury spa, and three innovatively designed restaurants, a lobby lounge and bar. In addition, more than 3100 square metres of meeting space will ensure that guests can stay connected and meet in comfort, supported by state-of-the-art technology and meeting facilities. Two ballrooms with 2100 square metres of space will enable large-scale conferences as well as high-end wedding banquets and social gatherings. The project, which was officially launched in 2005, is a key component in the Seoul Metropolitan Government's plan to rejuvenate the Yeouido area and to position the area as a regional financial centre, creating employment opportunities and enriching the quality of life for local residents. DUSIT INTERNATIONAL ARRIVES IN CHINA Dusit International recently announced the opening of its first property in China - Dusit Thani Sanya.
